In 2006 Brooks expanded her interest to documentary photojournalism.
In the fall of 2005 I had spent a week in Jodhpur, Rajasthan India. Her “fixer” guide, during the week, introduced her to various parts of his extended family. When I returned to Jodhpur the following year I was fortunate to be have his cousin’s family welcome me into their home to document their life and specifically that of their teenage daughter, at the time enrolled in a private secondary school.
In 2007 I was invited to be a participant in the Missouri Photo Workshop sponsored by University of Missouri's School of Journalism.
